ASK A PUNK
Ask A Punk is a semi-autobiographical collection of photos I’ve taken whilst becoming a part of a smaller Toronto community. I’ve always loved the music. There are people who you will find who also care. The venues and places where we find these people are simultaneously non-important, as we will take whatever space we were given; And most importantly where else would we go? Hold on to your people as long as you can and care for them. They are your own.

Bite Me is an aggressive response that pairs with the redness in my face. Embarrassment is an emotional state experienced when one commits a socially unacceptable act that is witnessed by others. Frequently grouped with shame and guilt, embarrassment is considered a “self-conscious emotion”. I try to work through the emotional weight and shame that embarrassment provides. I always wanted to wear graphic t-shirts I liked when I was young, but the incapacitating shame about bearing myself in any capacity to anyone condemned me to the same black sweater for years. Growing past childhood memories, I don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks about me. Embarrassment is useless and confines many people to a small part of themselves. Do whatever the fuck you want! Wear graphic t-shirts or skirts or furry boots!! Others will stare; stare back.
